Sharjah has always
been a pioneer
in culture and
education. The
first properly
organized school
was established
in Sharjah in
the 1950's. The
old school building
still exists today
and is located
in the Heritage
area next to Souk
Al Arsah.
Excellent multinational
nursery, primary,
secondary and
undergraduate
education exists
in Sharjah.
Since 1997, two
Universities are
also available.
The federal education
ministry takes
its responsibilities
towards private
schooling very
seriously. Schools
must be inspected
and licenses once
a year. A specified
number of Arabic
tuition in compulsory
for all pupils.
