Times are changing fast at Sharjah
International Airport and we
are constantly updating facilities
and equipment to keep pace with
the dynamic growth and market
demand that we have experienced
at this airport.
Our
open skies, open ground policy,
which results in flexibility
and competitiveness, has attracted
both large and small operators,
keen to take advantage of the
opportunities that await them
here.
Cargo
has always been a prominent
force at the airport and we
are proud to announce that we
have reached a record level
of cargo handled by any Middle
East airport. I would like to
take this opportunity to thank
all our customers, airlines
and agents who have contributed
to this success. As a display
of our commitment to this sector
we have opened a new terminal
to satisfy and cope with the
growth and to further enhance
our logistical support. We have
witnessed a healthy increase
in sea-air cargo, highlighting
the excellent connections with
our local ports.
We
value greatly the custom of
all the airlines using the airport
and it is our intention to serve
their needs and in turn, those
of their customers, to the very
best of our ability. We are
still the only airport in this
region to allow airlines to
operate with their own facilities.
As
traffic grows in our region,
so will the airport. We are
very open and flexible to their
needs and expect even greater
passenger numbers in the coming
years as visitors discover the
delights of this beautiful emirate
full of Islamic architecture,
heritage and traditions.
We
shall continue to enhance our
position both locally and internationally.
However, our fundamental philosophy
remains the same: to deliver
the very highest standards of
facilities and service to all
our customers. We look forward
to seeing you at Sharjah International
Airport.
